Another thrilling story by the international best-selling author of “Mark of the Successor”!
Fin depends on her companions to keep her safe…and out of chains. As one of the Amari, the only race that can harness magic, she longs for a normal life. One where she didn’t have to constantly look over her shoulder, and she could fall in love.
Alaric fell hard for Fin from the moment he laid his eyes on her three years ago. He swore an oath to keep her safe, even if it meant his life. But he knew that any relationship he could hope to have with her would be on her terms.
When a king offers them the chance at a normal life, Fin’s cautious. And rightly so, as there are others who think she’s the one to lead the Amari from a life of slavery.

I received this book for a honest review. Fin’s Magic: A Book of the Amari is a great easy story to read and it can definitely be finished in one sitting. Kate Marie Collins draws you in. The characters were believable and you want to know about them.
I would have liked to read more of a back-story of Fin and her traveling friends. The story jumps right in, made me think there might have been a story before it and this one was a sequel.
Kate takes you into a world where a race of people get their magic from the earth, and Fin, an Amari magic user has been on the run and in hiding for a number of years. Her fellow travelers have protected her for a number of those same years.
A group of King Christoph’s men escort Fin and her friends to the king’s sanctuary lands. Deceit comes from an Amari under the King’s protection, resulting Fin in being taken.
The fight scene at the end during Fin’s rescue was over too quickly. A bit more detail in the description of the fight scene would have been good.
This was a enjoyable short read and worthy of a second read.
